Biomass

Turn every piece of waste into a resource. What if your waste could be turned into energy?

Need support?

We support our clients from the feasibility phase through to the commissioning of biomass boiler plants, including assistance with administrative procedures (ADEME, DREAL) and project management.

Based on energy assessments (thermal and electrical for cogeneration projects), we define equipment specifications, layout plans, and investment budgets to help clients respond to calls for proposals and secure government grants.

We determine the type of boiler as well as the appropriate storage and handling methods.

CRISTAL UNION

We designed and built a high-performance gas-fired power plant, reinforcing the sugar plant's energy autonomy and optimizing the recovery of process steam. The mission covered detailed engineering, equipment integration (gas boilers, steam turbine, generator) and complete project management through to commissioning.

INEOS

To support the decarbonization of the chemical site, Engie Solutions has entrusted Ekium with the study of the Detailed Preliminary Project for a future biomass heating plant.

DS SMITH

To support its low-carbon strategy, DS Smith has entrusted Engie Solutions and Ekium with the modernization and extension of its gas-fired boiler plant, designed to enhance the reliability of its steam network and prepare for the integration of a future biomass unit. From design to commissioning, Ekium managed the multi-technical engineering (processes, civil engineering, electricity, automation) and coordinated the work, while ensuring continuity of production at the site.

SAICA

Ekium is managing the replacement of two boilers with natural gas/biogas units to secure steam production and reduce energy consumption, as part of an energy transition compatible with a future biomass unit. The mission covers regulatory assistance (ICPE file), complete multidisciplinary engineering (processes, civil engineering, mechanics, electricity, instrumentation) and site management through to commissioning without interrupting production.
