FALCON tool

A multi-vector simulation platform designed to analyze and optimize any type of complex energy network.

Let's discuss your needs

Robust and adaptable, this tool enables users to quickly assess the overall efficiency of a multi-energy system while taking into account specific constraints such as the variability of imports or exports, resource availability, and operational limits.

The tool helps optimize system sizing by incorporating CAPEX/OPEX assumptions to operate the network at the lowest cost while verifying all imposed constraints. Initially developed to address the challenges of Power-to-X projects, FALCON is now applied to numerous industrial contexts: e-SAF plants (Methanol-to-Jet process), paper mills, sugar production sites, energy hubs, and many others.

Power-to-X projects involve a complex chain of technologies (electrolysis, methanation, carbon capture, storage, heat, water, etc.), where every choice impacts overall performance. Being able to quickly identify the most promising configurations before committing to detailed studies is essential for remaining competitive and making sound strategic decisions.

Our objectives

  • Accelerate the evaluation of complex energy configurations during the preliminary design phase

  • Quickly identify the most technically and economically efficient architectures

  • Facilitate strategic decision-making by objectively comparing multiple scenarios

  • Reduce investment risks by testing the viability of solutions before committing

Highlights

  • Versatility: applicable to any type of multi-energy network, from Power-to-X to conventional industrial processes

  • Speed: agile exploration of multiple alternatives without the need for detailed preliminary studies

  • Integrated optimization: automatic technical and economic sizing under constraints (CAPEX/OPEX, availability, variability)

  • Intuitive visualization: clear interface with automatic generation of dynamic flow diagrams (Dynamic BFD)

  • Sensitivity analysis: identification of critical parameters and robust comparison of variants

  • Seamless integration: fits naturally into engineering workflows and client study phases

Rapid optimization of multi-energy architectures

Seamless integration

Integrates directly into our engineering workflow and documentation deliverables. No additional effort is required.

Flexibility between technologies

Applicable to Power-to-X, industrial decarbonization, the integration of public services, and emerging multi-energy systems.

Transparent, traceable assumptions

All configuration choices, data entered, and scenario comparisons are clearly documented for review and validation.

Accelerating project development

Reduces the number of iterative cycles with stakeholders and decision-makers, thereby shortening project cycles and approval processes.

Strategic advantages

  • Time savings: up to an 80% reduction in analysis time

Identify the most promising system architectures in a matter of days or weeks, rather than months.

  • Risk mitigation: Compare multiple scenarios before committing

Perform sensitivity and configuration tests to confidently justify your technology choices.

  • Optimize capital and operating costs: properly size systems from the design phase

Avoid oversizing and reduce costs with reliable pre-sizing recommendations.
