INDUSTEEL, laying the 1st stone at the Coulée Continue Verticale construction site

Ekium present at the laying of the 1st stone on the construction site of the Coulée Continue Verte at the INDUSTEEL factory in Le Creusot (71).

On Friday, February 2, our Dunkirk team, represented by Jean-Luc Declemy, head of steelmaking/metallurgy, Nicolas Beillant, project manager, and Mouldi Chouchene, project engineer, was present at this important event.

Accompanied by the Danieli team (continuous casting machine manufacturer) and Industeel project manager Gauthier PLATTEAU, Ekium is proud to be part of this large-scale project, carrying out a complete project management mission (from preliminary design to commissioning) including studies of all technical lots.

The construction of this revolutionary, more energy-efficient equipment will enable the production of even more carbon-free steel and contribute to a reduction of 6,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Industeel is recognized for producing the greenest steel in Europe, notably by favoring electricity over gas to melt the metal. The first casting is scheduled for May 2025.
